Part III – Catalogue-Based Non-Destructive Imaging
1.     What model does cataloguing software use ?
Library model
2.     Where are the images stored in a catalogue based system ?
Single folder; multiple folders; or hardrives

3.     Where does the catalogue get its initial information about the files ?
metadata
4.     Where does the cataloguing software store this information ?
Stores the information in a central location
5.     What is the main organising principle of Browser based systems ?
6.     How do cataloguing systems organise their images ?
a record is created for each photo file containing the info ,a preview of the image is created
and stored and can be accessed even if the file is not available;
and any metadata in the file is associated with the
 photo in the catalogue
7.     How does a cataloguing system make changes to an image ?
Adding information like keyword just makes a note in the catalogue
 record for the photo.
8.     Can other programs see these changes ?                             No How does
9.     a cataloguing system make changes to an image available to other programs ?
It can be done to files (JPG, TIFF, PSD OR DNG) can show the adjusted images in  way accessible to nearly any program.
10.                       List 5 advantages of Cataloguing based PIE software ?
a.      Info created, stored & cross referenced in one place. Multiple rendering can be attached to a single source image and managed in the same environment.
b.     Creates useful groups of scattered images. Cataloguing programs organise by metadata
c.      Works with offline images. Can access photos not connected to the computer.
d.     . It can be backed up early in the process because the original is never changed.
e.      Generates multiple output types from a single source.
11.                       Give two examples of software that combine Image Cataloguing and Editing functions ?
a.      Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
b.     Apple Aperture
